1/05/2022 Red #6790 is this the world's best red? What is the hardest pigment to make? Deep Navy Blue as a primary pure pigment is close to impossible to make, even a good Navy Blue is hard to make with mixing multiple pigments together (without showing a purple under-tones). The hardest pigment to make is a transparent red AND the red has no pink undertone AND it must chemically work in all resins and paints AND mixes easily in water-base and solvent bases AND has a full 8/8 lightfastness. Yes this red could also make some amazing brown tone colour mixes!
01/04/2022 Can we replace Green 7 & Blue 15 for the tattoo industry? Here is our lastest work replacing Copper (Cu) with Iron (Fe) chemistry, so deep blue and green all good. Cyan? not yet!
02/03/2022 Can you kill an artist or industry by banning just two amazing 'staple' colours?
Do you think this is a good weapons kit for the current Tattoo artist? Many in the industry work with just 12 to 14 colours and a few black tones. Is 28 colours better then 14 colours? Hopefully? Will 28 colours be the new industry norm? NSW & QLD started draft regulation in 2018/19 for the tattoo industry. To let you know as Australia's only pigment manufacturer, I have never been consulted by state or federal regulators about tattoo pigment guidelines or bans. Regulators are talking about a ban of Green 7 & Blue 15. Banning two of the seven most used tattoo colours directly kills the industry or creates more of a black market economy and deep underworld industry. Will tattoo artists just say they are making a surfboard? What colours can you make without blue & green?
2/2/2022 When something very unique or different comes out of the pigment reactor. A new colour (#31-6-21) first time ever made! Does remind me of the pigment industry old friend PY199.
For anyone who wants to make this pigment I am happy to open source, and the chemical formula is: Dodecanamide,N,N′-(9,9′,10,10′-tetrahydro-9,9′,10,10′-tetraoxo[1,1′-bianthracene]-4,4′-diyl)bis-;N,N′-(9,9′,10,10′-Tetrahydro-9,9′,10,10′-tetraoxo[1,1′-bianthracene]-4,4′-diyl)bis[dodecanamide].
After 6 months of testing, and punishment in the Xenon light tester this pigment is ready for sale!
